A Sad Day.
Dec. 31st, 2008 | 03:48 pm
Following my utter disappointment at S4E16 - Sunshine State, i've come to a decision.
I love Prison Break, from my heart of hearts, and therefore i must cut my loses and leave it now so that i can still hold the memories of the previous 3 seasons. Season four let me down; the execs. have been greedy and now more than ever it has lost touch with it's characters and their devoted fans.
Prison Break has never been realistic, and i valued that, but i also valued it's strong characterisation and core values. Now that is lost in a weak conspiracy, exploding cars and poor writing. A show that taught me so much is now reduced to little more than the shot-'em-up attitude it has since adopted. The core characters [with the exception of Sara, Sucre, Mahone, and to some extent, Michael] are unrecognisable, and the plot is too far from the starting point.
While it was Prison Break that taught me to always 'have a little faith', i can no longer see any redeeming way out of this mess and need to leave it now so that i may still cherish my dear prison break.
For me, Season Four never existed. As much as it hurts to leave it behind it is a small pain compared to sitting through the remaining six or eight episodes of a show that i was so invested, too invested, in.
Therefore, i leave now with Seasons 1,2+3 [and will continue to watch them religiously] as the true Prison Break.
What a shame.

Sunshine State [S4E16] - thoughts
Dec. 30th, 2008 | 11:01 pm
1. WHERE WAS SUCRE? i wanted to see something there, dropping him like that was harsh.
2. WHERE WAS KMAN? yes, i still hold out hope [what has PB taught me if not to just 'have a little faith']. it would have made for an AMAZING cliffhanger if kellerman had been on the other end of the phone, not christina scofield.
3. compared to past midseason finales, this one was… weak.
4. Sara seemed pathetic, constantly chasing after Michael. I prefered the couple when there was some tension between them. now it’s flat and you’re never reminded of their love [if it still exists that is].
--The only real moments that got me going were [1] that Linc/Gretchen thing, it made me squirm as much as seeing her and the general kiss and [2] when christina scofield had to listen to her son want to kill her - yeah. i cried. [imagine the pain everyone's feeling at that moment. Christina Rose with the guilt, Michael feeling completely lost and Linc.. being linc. Typical bull-in-a-china-shop, raging emotions sort of guy]
--Kellerman. kellerman. kellerman. kellerman. kellerman. I'm tired of weak characters [a la Don Self, what was up with the 'whore' insults? it was laughable. really.] or characters that are unrecognisable [a la Bagwell] sticking around [although i lovee Bagwell, i just want mean old Fox River/Season 2 bagwell back. Adds a bit more edge to everything]. Kellerman and Gretchen are/were hard, streamlined characters with someone to live for and a passion for coming out top. The writers tease us with these dubious character endings that agitate me.
-- Michael with a shrink, he's had one before in Season one. i like the talk about him visiting his mother's grave and the flowers. Seemed to fit in perfectly with who michael is. The use of cute poison was great. i love link backs to previous seasons.
--Sara needs more motive that her father's death... she needs, something. Michael and her have to do something, have to demonstrate the love that used to be so clear in seasons 2/3/beginning of 4. I appriciate that audiences get sick of strung out relationships, but there has to be something other than this perfect relationship handed out on a plate.
-- Linc goes through far too many girls, i'm still not sure how he can be over Veronica after only three months since she died.
--Kellerman. Kellerman. Kellerman.
-- how i miss Season 1 and 2. for me, that's the PB i want to remember when all this is done. The gritty, streamlined, cleancut show where every line was delivered flawlessly and there were no over-the-top moments involving headchopping, mother's returning, or lines that could easily be followed by 'DunDunDunnn'

Characters: Sara Tancredi, Brad Bellick
Category: One-shot, Gen
Rating: PG-13 [drug references]
Spoilers: Seasons 1, 2, and S4E8 - The Price
Author's Notes: The way she glanced at the bottle moved me, i actually thought she would pocket it to take away with her. I know that the dialoge is different in my piece to what actually happened, but i wrote it as this is what came before the actual spoken dialoge in the episode. Apologises if me changing that up a bit offends fans or TPTB.

I'm not one to post random photos, but after STGD lead me to John Russo's [this pretty awesome photographer... Well, anyone how snaps the PB cast is amazhink!] website, and after the last episode [S408 - the price] i'm just too in love to pass up.

i don't know when they were taken, but aren't they amazhink?
gah :]

Title: Far Gone
Author:

Characters: Michael, Bits of T-Bag
Category: One-shot, Gen
Rating: PG
Summary: During a scene between T-Bag, Michael, and the Gate receptionist in Ep. 7, Five the Hard Way.
Spoilers: Season 4, Episode 7, Five the Hard Way
Author's Notes: Because after what Sara learns about Michael, and what T-bag said to Michael, I'm more afraid than ever and I don't know how I'm going to be able to handle it. I hope this episode acts as a catalyst for Michael. A little bit of grammer play going on here.

Word Count: 184
Spoilers: None, unless you haven't seen 401, Scylla
Synopsis: Even though the end is near they aren't sure if that's enough.
Note: As we get deeper into the story, the episodes are slowly running out and I fear the end of season four more than I seem to be enjoying the beginning.

Eagles and Angels is best episode of season 3/4! Yay!
[i cried what, four times in one episode? and there was still exciting moments!]
MICHAEL loves her!
SARA is so damn strong [but a little clingy with michael?!] that scene in the bar. it reminded me of Season one after she leaves the infirmary door open.
LINC is just amazing
SUCRE had LINESSSS
BELLICK got his spine back
T-Bag is still t-bag-ing.
Mahone is adorable
Self is ... gay? "i like your style michael"?? what was that?
Roland.. is roland.
